The Pontiac is one frustrating car. Randy and I took the gas tank out Saturday and ran it out to Chris so he could weld the hole up in it. Tonight after work i put the tank back in and put gas in it and its leaking on the floor as we speak. Any ideas?

Randy bought some of that gas tank repair stuff from shucks. I think im going to try that first to try and avoid taking the tank back out of the car.

Thanks you guys for being so diligent. I'm beginning to get a good sense of why that car was never finished. What a headache!! Any money you spend, keep the receipts so we can reimburse you for it. I'll talk to Kim tonight and we'll get you a check. If we can get gas to stay in it, we can take it to get the headliner installed. Again, thank you for your perseverence! This car has been my one worry and frustration and your help with it is awesome! Mom

I think my brother has the solution. He can get tank Line-X'ed for me for like 40 bucks. That will seal off any possibility of any leak anywhere in the whole tank and that stuff is fuel proof and will last forever.

Ok even better. Randy thinks he can get a brand new gas tank from Evergreen muscle car for a reasonable price. If he can this is the best way to go if Cathy and Kim are ok with it. He is going to check on it tomorrow to see how much it will cost.

Hi guys,
I'm fine with getting a new tank if it's possible. That's probably the least hassle. Let us now the cost and we'll get you the $$.
Again, thanks for your perseverence. We'll get this thing on the road yet!

Thanks for the great pictures Randy. The interior looks great! Gagnon welding said to bring the tank to his shop this week and they"ll make sure it's completely sealed... no more pin holes.
Rob's endless challenges with this car seem to be following us as well. ;D If this time doesn't work, we're ordering the new tank.

thanks everyone. We should have the basics nailed down by Wed, EOM (July) - the other thing we need to mess with next is the slow leak in the MC- forgot all about that part. It's leaking out the front.
I'll keep everyone posted..

Randy and I worked on the Pontiac again last night and rebuilt the carburetor. The car is running great now. So far it's looking like it's going to make it to the car show in Arlington this coming weekend. It won't have a few of the finishing touches like the headliner in it yet, but at least we can drive it now.
