We wanted to find a way to legally memorialize the crash site since three crosses have been removed now. The stretch of Hwy 524 where Rob's accident happened has not yet been adopted so members or our group have filed the application to adopt this stretch in the name of "rememberpef.org - In Memory of Robert "Pef" Peffley". More information will be posted when details are available.

Well, I knew processes are slow working with government agencies, but WOW! I think we actually have sign verbiage approval and there are a lot of restrictions! We basically have the choice of either the name of the non-profit or In Memory of...
I thought it best to opt for In Memory of...
We can wear shirts with the name of the non-profit while cleaning. Thought you would all agree that public memorial would be nice since all the crosses keep getting removed.
I'll post when we get our final stuff.

I just spoke to the new Adopt-a-Highway Coordinator for the area we've requested and he confirmed our information so he can finish drawing up the contract. He said he would call me as soon as it's ready to sign and I will go to their office to go over everything, sign, and pick up our supplies. The signs will go up within a couple weeks from then.
Stay tuned....

Well... We're on coordinator #3 I think now with the DOT, but still moving forward. We had to change our verbiage on our sign back to our corporate name, but there is a new program in the works for memorial signs for motorcyclists lost. We are on the list for signs and supporters and will know something about it this spring. The sign would be placed at the accident site. If you know of others that have lost loved ones to accidents similar to Rob's and are interested in this new program, send me a message and I'll send you more information and help you get on the list.
