Since Rob/Pef's accident at this intersection, there have been numerous serious accidents. There were quite a few prior to his accident as well.
Our Mom, Cathi, has taken on the task of making contact with the various government officials necessary to push for changes needed to make this stretch of highway safer to travel. Our research has shown that the dollars have been approved for quite some time, but no action has been taken. As a family and organization of friends, we want to make sure to do what we can to keep others from losing their lives needlessly.
We will post information soon regarding our progress in following up on this topic as well as ways you can help.

Hi everyone, I'm finally getting the hang of how to post in the right place. Just an update on the traffic management issue. I've written and called several times to Mike Swires who's the engineer in charge of changes on that stretch of road. He has not called me back or answered my e-mail. I need to research another option for trying to get information on what if any plans are in process. I'll keep trying and let you know what I come up with. Mom

Hi all,
I wrote to Representative Al O'Brien in Olympia, (Rob's accident happened in his district) and reiterated our concern about the lack of traffic management on Highway 524 and the intersections of Larch and Magnolia. I asked him to respond to me regarding what if any plans are in the works to make that road safer. We'll see if he responds.

Hi all,
I finally got a response from my letter to Representative Al O'Brian, albeit a little lame! It was two short paragraphs and said he'd try to get ahold of WSDOT to see what they were doing about traffic management on Hwy 524 and if they weren't doing anything he'd initiate a plan.
If I don't hear anything else in the next couple of weeks, I'll write again and ask for more specific information.
